A storm Sunday night may have eclipsed the opportunity for sky gazers to view a rare lunar spectacle over Gillette, but the damper came with it's own spectacular light show, as seen in this photo taken at Bell Knob Golf Course at about 7 p.m.

One of the things I love about living and working in Wyoming is the unpredictable weather. I spent many evenings this summer chasing sudden, powerful storm cells that, at times, were down right frightening. I’m a nerd, I guess, or an adrenaline junky, as I enjoyed every second. Just ask my wife. I didn’t, however, enjoy watching a storm roll in Sunday as people gathered in a parking lot at the golf course for an eclipse party I was scheduled to photograph. I saw no super moon or eclipse, but I did see some spectacular lightning. F 2.8., 1/50, ISO 1600, wait for it…
