The NHSFR is a pretty big deal. It brings thousands of competitors to Gillette from all fifty states as well as Canada and Australia. The population of Gillette, about 30,000, increases by about 6,000 during the week the rodeo is in town. And that’s not counting horses. The rodeo moves around each year so I feel fortunate to have been working in Gillette this year when it came to town. It was a ton of work, as we put out a rodeo daily as well as our regular daily all week long. Here’s a mix of features, sports and what I guess you could call rodeo news photos I made throughout the week.
